A partnership between Hilton Worldwide Holdings Inc and Crown Advanced Construction Co has set up and sighed an agreement to work on a new hotel with 308 rooms that is scheduled to open on 2022, with the name Hilton Times City.
This new hotel in Myanmar, specifically in its capital Yangon, is projected to become the first step to an increase in the country’s tourism and travel sectors, according to the vice president of Hilton Worldwide in South Asia, Paul Hutton. He also said that Yangon has great capability to flourish, commercially and financially speaking, which was a defining factor in implementing the project of a hotel in the capital.
Three other Hilton hotels have been erected in the country, as Hilton Worldwide has been working with another local Myanmar firm called Eden Group Co Ltd since 2014. These hotels are Hilton Mandalay, Hilton Nay Pyi Taw, and Hilton Ngapali Resorts and Spa. U Chit Khine of the Eden Group has also said that another two Hilton hotels in Myanmar will soon open as well, one located in Inle Lake (within Shan State) and the other in the city of Bagan. He told The Myanmar Times that there is around $100 million worth of investments for them.
Crown Advanced Construction Co, in the words of Director U Myat Min, has also expressed their appreciation for being able to work with Hilton Worldwide on building and operating its first hotel. He is also confident that the Yangon Hilton hotel in Myanmar will be one of the prime temporary lodgings selected by the people travelling into the capital.
Hilton Times City is contributing to the mixed-use development project of Times City, located in the centre of Yangon. As part of this, the hotel will be strategically situated with other establishments such as a mall, Yangon International Airport, a refined residential tower, which are all close to the central business district. It is intended to be 20 minutes away by car from the airport and around 15 minutes from downtown Yangon.
This new and anticipated Hilton hotel in Myanmar, placed in Yangon’s high traffic areas, has positive expectations to meet. It boasts suites, apartments, two bars, five dining outlets, a 24-hour restaurant, and a Grab and Go outlet. It will be a destination for both business and pleasure.
